Reaching Wellington

By Air
Wellington is in the centre of New Zealand which means most places are less then an hour from Wellington by air. Wellington International Airport is 15 minutes drive from the city centre at Rongotai. Taxis, bus and an airport shuttle are available.

By Train
Wellington Railway Station in the centre of the city serves as the arrival point for both buses and trains. There is a daily overnight service to Auckland called the “Northerner” and a daily daytime train the “Overlander”.

By Ferry 
The inter island ferries travel across Cook Strait from Wellington and take both passengers and vehicles.

By Road
From the north there two major roads State Highways 1 & 2. Entry from the south is by the inter island ferry that arrives into Wellington .
