Mount Victoria
A good lookout point with views to the Airport, the Harbour, the CBD. It takes about an hour to walk up from Courtenay Place . The memorial at the top of the lookout is dedicated to Admiral Byrd the first person to fly over the South Pole.
Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa
New Zealand 's national museum opened 1998 and an internationally recognised museum. The museum mixes original artefacts and maximises the use of technologies to tell stories. Located in Cable Street (04 381 7000).
Museum of Wellington City and Sea
