Wellington sits at the bottom of the North Island on the edge of an expansive harbour. A busy city centre but with a village feel. An easy city to move around in by foot making it easy to explore the museums, waterfront, art galleries and shops. Wellington was first settled in 1840 by the New Zealand Company. Wellington is the capital of New Zealand .
